Vietnam Enduro Tour to Northeast Vietnam – 9 days

After enjoying breakfast with a cup of Vietnamese coffee, you move to the gathering point to start our 8-day North Vietnam Motorbike Tour. The first destination on this journey is Vu Linh – a small commune in Yen Bai district, which is home to Dzao ethnic minorities. To avoid rush hour, we will depart early at around 9 am. Today’s ride is quite long (180 km) that takes us about 7 hours to complete. Driving for hours is exhausting, but the greater the effort, the sweeter the reward, right? Our motorbike team will follow highways and single-track roads to Thac Ba Lake, which was created when Thac Ba hydroelectric plant was built on Chay River in Yen Binh district. The lake offers stunning scenery with over 1,300 islands, mostly covered in forests and clear water.

After taking some time to enjoy the beauty of Thac Ba lake, we will turn into a smaller road to reach Vu Linh commune. Our stopping point is Ngoi Tu cultural village – a peaceful village of Vu Linh commune that attracts domestic and foreign tourists with the form of community tourism. Untouched by the modern world outside, until now, the villagers still retain their traditional crafts, cultural events, cuisine, folk songs, folk games, and house architecture. At night, we can take part in a campfire with the locals and enjoy delicious specialties. Overnight at a local homestay, finish our first riding day.

The road from Vu Linh to Ba Be is one of the most impressive off-road courses in Northern Vietnam. In the morning, we are going to take the dirt road to explore around Thac Ba Lake. Destinations for the afternoon will be Na Hang and from there to Ban Thi village. The whole course is about 30 km off-road paths that cut through the old jungle of Ba Be national park. One of the sites that we will get through today is a restricted military zone. We will end this off-road day in some of the most beautiful homestay in Ba Be National Park.

We’ll keep riding past Cho Ra town into an off-road course to Tinh Tuc through Phia Hoac ridge and stop there for lunch. This is the second-best track, if not the best, of Cao Bang as the Phia Hoac mountain is really famous with its all-year-round cool weather, was dubbed the Sapa of Cao Bang. After lunch, we will continue the trip through the tin mines of Tinh Tuc town, where resides a particularly cool single track for true bikers. It winds up and down treacherous slopes of boulder stones and through Hmong and Dao people’s villages.

After that, we’ll have some 30 km of fine asphalt road, and then another off-road course up high with a marvelous view of the dusk. The road gets even more impressive in the afternoon and sight of curves that run to and fro on mountainsides is phenomenal. We will stay at Bao Lac for the night.

Recently acknowledged as a UNESCO Global Geopark, next to Ha Giang. After a hearty breakfast, we will resume the journey with a 40 km off-road ride near the China border, and the view of nature there is a beyond wonder. There you’ll get a chance to experience small roads, dirt and gravel roads, single tracks, dangerous enduro paths, or wild trails. The course length is 40 km and converged in it are all necessary factors for an off-road enduro trip. We’ll take a break at Bao Lac for lunch.

Then the voyage shall resume with the next task of conquering the fifteen levels of Me Pia pass, which winds up the mountain flank in a view worthy of tales. Layers and layers of limestone ridges and lush valleys take turns to get into your view which keeps changing every time you take a turn, the wondrous panorama has enough power to draw an “awesome” from any guest it greets. And we’ll have an option to take a downhill course before checking in our hotel at Cao Bang city.

First, let’s check-in at Ma Phuc pass before traveling to Nui Thung mountain. Nui Thung is the place where you can show off your enduro skills without worrying about law enforcers or pedestrians. It’s an enormous valley of the rough, bumpy steppe, with various ground features. This is also quite a famous camping site in Northern Vietnam. Next, we’ll get on the road to ride for a 40 km off-road path which peppered with big and small potholes and close to none other passengers to be seen. We’ll arrive at Ban Gioc falls at noon for lunch. There, we’ll have time to check-in at Ban Gioc and visit Nguom Ngao cave. Then we’ll take a 40 km mixed off-road jungle path to get to Quang Uyen. Spend the night in Quang Uyen.

A riding day with a lot of different types of roads. We’ll have lunch in That Khe town after getting through with a 40 km off-road trip. Then we’ll have the experience of getting across Ky Cung river on bamboo rafts. At the end of the day, we’ll arrive and check-in at our Lang Son hotel.

In the morning, we’ll have an unforgettable enduro experience before arriving at Dong Cao. Almost all of our customers have claimed at least once that it had been long since they had such a wonderful trip, which stretches over 80 km of off-road and enduro paths in and out of jungles. At noon, we’ll stop and have lunch at Dong Cao, the most well-known camping site in the mountainous region of Bac Giang province. There are enduro courses to conquer the high grounds there. Next, we’re going to backtrack to the main road to get to Ha Long city.

After long days of riding hard, sleep a bit more today. Get up at 9 in the morning for a fresh start, we offer you breakfast with Vietnamese coffee. Start off your new day with a wander around the city for a while by bike or on foot. Embark a cruise to explore the World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Your lunch is on at 1 p.m., savoring your meal while the cruise keeps crossing the bay to show you the majestic and mighty nature.

Halong teems with abundant scenic beauty, archeological and geological significance, cultural and historical connections, and fresh seafood. All blending together to make Halong Bay one of Mother Earth’s most incredible natural wonders and one of Vietnam’s most prized treasures. In the afternoon, we disembark from the cruise to Titop island, climbing 430 steps to the top of the island for a view of Halong bay from up high. Back to the cruise and join a cooking class held by the cruise chefs to learn the recipe for spring rolls. Dinner is on at 7:15 p.m. Then you can go fishing for cuttlefish, ending fun and relaxing day on our cruise ship

After savoring a light breakfast with a cup of coffee, we will explore Sung Sot Cave (the Cave of Astonishment) – the largest cave of Halong Bay made of stalactites and stalagmites in unique and special shapes like an old banyan tree with the luxuriant foliage. It’s also one of the 10 largest caves in the world with an area of 10,000 m2. Reaching the highest peak of the cave, you will see the beautiful landscapes of a royal garden that appears with a clear pond.

After a brunch buffet, we will check out the hotel at 11:30 a.m. Head back to the capital city – Hanoi. On the last day, we will clear the levees – the safest and most stunning route to get back home before rush hour. Be present at our tour office at 4:30 in the afternoon.
