Da Lat Phan Thiet Motorbike Tours
Da Lat – Phan Thiet is heaven for motorcycle tours in Southern Vietnam. That is confirmed by the Top Gear Vietnam Special when Da Lat and Phan Thiet are the first places Top Gear rides too. Da Lat is a mountainous area with incredible landscapes. Phan Thiet is Vietnamese Sahara; hence, there are two different riding styles. Climbing steep hills, getting into deep jungles, riding on sand, and conquering passes are the best for motorcycle lovers.
If you would like to have a motorcycle tour like Top Gear, I have this blog analyzing how they rode, and then you can plan your holiday better to ride from Saigon.
This blog will show you how to explore Da Lat and Phan Thiet perfectly. Also where to ride, tourist attractions, even off-road or enduro dirt bike tours. And with that information from BM’s Expert Team, I’m sure you can’t find it anywhere else.
1. Da Lat – The Little Paris
Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong Province and the largest city in the Central Highlands, and around 300 kilometers to the North of Saigon. The city is located 1,500 m (4,900 ft) above sea level on the Langbian Plateau. Da Lat is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam. Da Lat’s specific sights are pine woods and twisting roads full of marigold and mimosa blossoms in the winter. The city’s temperate weather contrasts with Vietnam’s otherwise tropical climate, which no other city has. Mist covering the valleys almost year-round leads to its name “City of Eternal Spring”.
Alexandre Yersin, a Swiss army doctor, served in the French army in the late 1800s. He was given the task of finding a place for the French to relax. The Central Highlands were chosen because the climate resembles that of France. After that, he moved to the Lang Biang plateau, where today’s flower city was born. DaLat’s built with French architecture, many churches here. So Da Lat looks like Little Paris.
I. Da Lat Weather
Dalat is the city in Vietnam with the best climate. Due to the natural terrain, the location is at an exceedingly perfect height. As a result, Dalat is surrounded by a vast green pine forest and enjoys a pleasant temperate environment all year. Even on the hottest days, the atmosphere is cool all year, with an average of 20 – 21 degrees Celsius. Another unique feature of Dalat is that it is not very frigid. The temperature during the winter months is at least 10 degrees Celsius.
Dry season: From December to March. These months are the best for motorcycle tours.
Rainy season: From April to October. You can ride in April, September, and October. But you should avoid traveling during the peak of the rainy season, from May to August.
II. Da Lat Destination
These are popular tourist attractions in Dalat that are well-liked and appreciated by visitors. I will list all of the Dalat attractions by category to help you quickly refer and choose places before the trip. We hope that this information will assist tourists in planning a well-prepared trip to “The City of Love” and capturing beautiful memories.
a. Da Lat Waterfalls
– Elephant Falls
The Elephant Falls, also known as Lieng Rowoa Waterfall, is located on the Camly River in Nam Ban Town, Lam Ha District, Lam Dong province. The waterfall is approximately 25 kilometers from Dalat city center, with a width of roughly 40 meters and more than 30 meters. The Elephant Waterfall is the most beautiful spot in Dalat’s suburbs.
– Prenn Waterfall
Prenn Waterfall is a pristine waterfall that preserves the Central Highlands’ natural beauty. On the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat, it is located at the foot of Prenn Pass. With forests and streams, this is one of the ecotourism destinations with some outdoor activities for tourists.
– Tiger Cave Waterfall
The waterfall is 25m in height and 10m in width. At the foot of the waterfall, the water flow falls firmly, making the dense mist cover the area. The white water then follows the rocks and flows into the primitive forest. In 1950, a giant tiger often lived in a cave close to the fall. Since then, people have given the name Tiger to the waterfall. And this fall is also the gate to starting the Enduro Tour in Da Lat.
– Bao Dai Falls
Bao Dai Waterfall, or Jraiblian falls, meaning a high rock waterfall, King Bao Dai used to hunt wild animals in this area. Jraiblian Waterfall was when the King chose to rest and relax after the tiring hunt.
– Dalanta Waterfall
Datanla is a big waterfall, around 8 km from Prenn waterfall and 10 km from Dalat city center. This Park offers many adventure tours such as canyoning, a high rope course, roller coaster.
b. Da Lat Lakes
– Xuan Huong Lake
The Xuan Huong Lake is beautiful in the heart of Dalat. Xuan Huong was a famous Vietnamese poet who lived in the nineteenth century. Pine forests, green lawns, and flower gardens surrounded the lake. – Tuyen Lam Lake
With a surface area of 320 hectares, Tuyen Lam is the largest freshwater lake. It’s beside the Dalanta Waterfalls. Nobody knows when and why Tuyen Lam was called, but maybe streams and forests were close because of their majestic nature. Tuyen stands for the stream, and Lam stands for the forest. Tuyen Lam is a place for lakes and trees to meet each other.
– Dankia – Suoi Vang Lake
SuoiVang Lake is a well-known landscape in Vietnam’s Lam Dong Province. The lake is 20 kilometers north of Dalat city, in the Lac Duong district. SuoiVang Lake is divided into two smaller bodies of water: Dankia at the top and Ankroet at the bottom. You can come here for Lonely Pine Tree, Camping, Paddling Sup, or Da Lat Off-road trip.
c. Da Lat Pagodas
– Linh Phuoc Pagoda
Linh Phuoc Pagoda, also known as Ve Chai Pagoda, was constructed in a remote Da Lat City residential area from glass, pottery bowls, and porcelain debris between 1949 and 1952. Many Buddhist monks have led the pagoda. You can learn more about Buddhism by spending time here and admiring how impressive the pagoda is.
– Linh Quy Phap An Pagoda
The pagoda’s architectural style is a mix of old Vietnamese and Japanese, with Japanese-style wooden gates erected to guard the holy site. It also features a Japanese-style rock garden where monks gather at various times during the day to contemplate and discuss the teaching of Buddha.
Linh Quy Pháp Ấn Pagoda consists of three major structures: a contemplation hall, a library, and a sanctuary. Visitors to the temple are welcomed to join the monks in their contemplation sessions and even for a meal.
Besides that, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Linh Son Pagoda, Linh Quang, Linh An also should be on your list. But Buddhism is always peaceful and beautiful in its way. Although Yersin and many Churches founded da Lat, French Architecture became the symbol here.

Phan Thiet is the capital of Bình Thuận province on the coast of Vietnam. The town encompasses a 57.4 kilometer-long coastline with many large and small beaches. It is a charming resort city, offering visitors a wide range of activities, both on land and water.
The life of the Binh Thuan people remained calm until October 24, 1995. The total eclipse to the city of Phan Thiet as a gift to heaven has attracted hundreds of thousands of tourists and scientists to explore the land features so wild. Since that day, traveling to Phan Thiet – Mui Ne, the end of the heart of Central Vietnam. It borders the Southeast and is only 200km from Ho Chi Minh City – it became famous on the map of Vietnam tourism. South and the world.
On the other hand, Phan Thiet also is in the Vietnamese Sahara. That is so exciting to riders like us. The White Sand Dunes in Mui Ne are spectacular – riding on sand one to hidden crevices of whirling dunes in barren deserts. But that isn’t what makes them unique! Unlike the Desert, where the possibility of water is but a mirage, the White Sand Dunes in Mui Ne are located next to a water body and close to Vietnam’s gorgeous beaches.

Rainy season: From May to September. Riding in these months, you have nothing to enjoy and constantly struggle with rain, storms, and also the peak of Vietnamese domestic tourism.
II. Phan Thiet Destination
– The Champa Kingdom
Phan Thiet (or Binh Thuan) was in the southern part of the Panduranga principality throughout Champa kingdom history, from the 2nd to the 19th centuries. The earliest trace of the existence of this state is the 8th-century Po Sah Inu towers, where Hindu deities were worshiped. Nowadays, the Cham people continue to hold the annual Kate festival, the biggest celebration there. Moreover, the Po Dam towers show us special features not found anywhere else in the north direction.
At the end of the 17th century, Nguyen kings allowed Phan Thiet and its surroundings to be a Cham autonomous area to save resources to attack the neighboring Chenla kingdom. In 1832, the land officially belonged to this state, and its name changed to Binh Thuan. The new name means “peace and harmony”.
– Ke Ga Lighthouse
Located on a rocky offshore island 45 minutes south of Phan Thiet, Ke Ga is Vietnam’s oldest lighthouse. It was built in February 1897 and completed at the end of 1898. The tower has an octagonal plan made of marble from France, available right outside. Lights emitting from its 65m-height guide boats and ships are much safer at night, from French colonial times up-to-date.
Sand Dunes
No trip to Phan Thiet would be complete without an adventure to the dunes. The Red Sand Dunes are located approximately 11 kilometers outside Mui Ne. They are best viewed at sunset when the orange sand turns a fiery red. If you can make it up in time, the sunrise maybe even more beautiful and less crowded. The White Sand Dunes, taller and wider than their colorful neighbors, are 23 kilometers away.
Come with BM Travel, Rent a bike and do a Dakar Rally together.
Fishing Village
Mui Ne Fishing Village has a beautiful view of the coastline, lined with swaying palm trees and colorful fishing boats moored in the water. As you walk deeper into the village, you’ll see pictures of locals meticulously making fish sauce or drying fish, which will provide a visual feast for your eyes. Early mornings are very busy and bustling as local fishers sort their day’s catch, including fresh scallops, stingrays, crabs, and groupers. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to learn about local life.
Yen Cape – The hidden Heaven for adventurers
Yen Cape has a stunning view of the ocean. Camping in Yen Cape is something you cannot ignore. The night in Mui Yen is tranquil. The basket boats of fishers going fishing at night only occasionally shine bright lights that startle you. Besides, this place is just you, the wind, and the sound of the waves crashing—the only starry sky with stars on moonless nights at Mui Yen. There is a mini off-road trip here to admire nature and enjoy the next day’s dawn. Yen Cape is the ideal place for any adventurers.
Touching the core of historical values, knowing more about the cultures, hitting the off-road, and admiring nature are the goals of any trip. b. Road Trip
– Gia Bac Pass – Motorbiking to Di Linh Town
When going through Gia Bac’s Pass, everyone will understand why this place is so loved. The scenery here is breathtaking with the mountains of the same message, the vast and endless coffee hills. Gia Bac Pass has more than 100 years of history, originating as a trade trail of the K’ho Nop people in the South of Di Linh and officially became an essential pass in the French period. Gia Bac Pass attracts travelers in addition to the dangerous turns. The natural beauty is preserved intact: the coffee shop located in the middle of the Pass. This small cafe is a simple-looking wooden house that overlooks the vast valley.
– Da Mi Pass – Motorbiking to Bao Loc city.
Da Mi Pass connects Bao Loc and Phan Thiet, cross and zigzag pass roads, encounter 2 beautiful artificial lakes between the mountains and forests, Ham Thuan Lake and Da Mi Lake. In the middle of the lake, there are 8 large and small islands of all shapes and sizes, covered with green trees like giant rockeries.
