1. Working through an international travel agency in Vietnam with the organization of bringing foreigners’ vehicles to join traffic in Vietnam

Taking a Vietnam caravan tour, foreigners are required to work through an international travel agency in Vietnam with detailed entry and exit times, number of vehicles, number of people, places of entry, exit, range, and the route. According to the Decree of the Ministry of Transport, when participating in traffic, foreigners need to comply with the provisions of the law on road traffic of Vietnam. In particular, foreigners must strictly follow the scope and route according to the approval letter of the Ministry of Transport, traveling in groups under the guidance of the Vietnamese international travel agency that you are working through.

This travel agency will be responsible for arranging driving vehicles, providing guidance on the law on road traffic order and safety for passengers when participating in traffic, traffic safety and security and implementing law provisions in organizing the international motorbike delegation to join the traffic in Vietnam, reporting to the Ministry of Transport on the results of the implementation after the tour ends.

2. Motorbikes owned by foreign organizations or individuals must be registered in foreign countries and attached with foreign number plates

3. Motorbikes must possess a technical safety and environmental protection inspection certificate and a motorbike registration certificate issued by a competent agency of the country of registration.

4. The motorbike owner is a foreigner, having motorbike documents suitable to the type of the vehicle

• International Driving License (IDL): this document which is issued by your National Automobile Association allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in any country that recognizes IDLs. To be valid, the IDL must be maintained by a valid driving license.
• Driving License: an official document or card which shows that you have the legal right to drive a vehicle
• Blue Card: The motorcycle Blue card in Vietnam is the ownership papers of the motorbike. The information on the Bluecard identifies the bikes’ engine number, chassis number, license plate number, and owner of the motorbike.

5. An approval letter by the Ministry of Transport

To cross the border to Vietnam with your bike, you must obtain a Vietnamese entry and exit permit from the Department of Transportation at least 15 days ahead of time, and at least 1 month ahead of time for crossing the border to Vietnam with your car.
