Next, we’ll come to Muang Khoun – the former capital of Xieng Khouang province. This is an excellent opportunity for us to behold the beauty of some magnificent temples such as Wat Thom Phet and Wat That Phoun. Because the main religion of Lao is Buddhism, it’s not hard to encounter a temple or pagoda here. If we have more time, we can visit the old military base – another witness of the cruel war against the invaders. To reach Viengthong, we have to overcome a part of Ho Chi Minh trail – Road 10. This rough road will surely arouse your sense of adventure. We will stay with a local family in Viengthong tonight.

From Pho CHhau, keep riding on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. Stop for a while to refuel our bikes and be ready for the upcoming off-road routes and legendary mountain passes. Riding on Da Deo Pass crossing through the primeval forest between Vietnam and Laos will be the most incredibly amazing part of the day.

On the eleventh day of the Indochina Vietnam Laos Dirtbike tour, heading to Khe Sanh, we will ride along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, a strategic road built by the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam. Before 2010, it was the unique trail connecting Phong Nha and Khe Sanh, then the Vietnamese government rebuilt this trail to commemorate the victory of Saigon 1975.
Make sure to fill up our motorcycles with gasoline before we ride in more than 200km crossing the jungle and along with the Viet – Laos border without meeting any gas station. If lucky, we may encounter some wild animals like deers, langurs, or even Indochinese Tiger.

On the twelfth day of the Indochina Vietnam Laos Dirtbike tour, If you ever heard of Hamburger Hill, McNamara Line, A Luoi or Dakrong Bridge which was built in 1975 after reunification, today it’s your great chance to visit such places in Khe Sanh.
These places, along with the 17th parallel, Ben Hai River, and Vinh Moc Tunnels suffered the most ravages during the Vietnam War. Coming here, some history stories of this land of a million bombs told by our tour guide will surely touch your heart.
Keep riding until entering Highway 14 close to the border with Laos, we turn into the dirt roads within Laos’ territory. Lunch and take a break here. Continue our ride to Highway 49 of winding passes and forest roads in 60km more to reach the dreamland, Hue Ancient Capital City.
On the thirteenth day of Indochina Vietnam Laos dirtbike tour, This day is the most relaxing day of the tour because you have a free day to explore and enjoy the ancient beauty of Hue. Some recommend places are Hue Citadel, Huong River, and Trang Tien Bridge. Hue was the capital city of the Nguyen Dynasty for 140 years from 1805 to 1945. The Citadel Complex of Hue is now one of the World Cultural Heritage, capturing much of tourists’ attention because of its poetic beauty.
Huong River flows through a series of scenic spots, taking visitors to travel by boat to every corner of the ancient citadel. Especially, you must try a boat ride on the Huong river at night because when night comes, the surface of the river glistens the moonlight and only the songs of the boat rowers break the silence. Those incredible images have inspired artists to make many poems, pictures, or songs. At night, you also can walk in the pedestrian street and enjoy delicious food without worrying about the price. We have to move to Hoi An tomorrow so you should not return to the hotel too late.
