It is exciting right from the beginning when we set out for the trip. From the meetup point, we snake through the busy and chaotic streets in bustling Hanoi, heading to the Road 32. We then

head to the first destination in our journey – Bac Yen district in the northern mountainous province of Son La.

Mountainous Bac Yen district offers some of the most pleasant off the beaten track journeys and light adventure trips in northwestern Vietnam.

With Hanoi – Bac Yen route, we will ride through zigzag roads with several sharp bends and slopes. As a driver, you will feel a bit scared but the landscape will make all your efforts worth it. Enjoying the panoramic view over the vast tea plantations and terraced rice fields here will be a rewarding experience for riders.

From Bac Yen, we continue our ride along the rocky slope with steep cliffs on one side and deep valley on the other one.

We make it to Tu Le, a commune in Van Chan district in northern mountainous Yen Bai province in the late afternoon. Tu Le is located between three mountain ranges – Khau Pha, Khau Than, and Khau Song and well known for the stunning beauty of rice terraced fields.

We set off Mu Cang Chai and rode straight to Quy Ho Pass, hanging up among clouds and mountains in the early morning. Surely, we cannot ignore vast tea, corn, or rice plantation along the tracks. Besides, winding passes and splendid mountain ranges sometimes make you fret but feel happy after conquering.

Sapa town is one of the popular tourist destinations in the highland areas of the North. Therefore, it is worth staying here and checking why it is such an attractive location. The first and foremost spot we highly recommend for you is Sapa Stone Church, which is ideal for tourists to check in and snap memorable photoshoots. The church is a landmark structure built under the French colony in the middle of Sapa center town for a spiritual reason. Nowadays, thousands of ethnic minorities’ communities have gathered for trade or even exchange their products daily, creating local cultural identity quite obviously.

After taking a stroll around this lovely town and researching local culture, we returned to the homestay. In the warm atmosphere, we can share our feeling about our travel time.

Today will be a tough day with 240 km of riding continuously. In the morning, our team will ride back to Lao Cai city and visit the Chinese border region, where Vietnamese and Chinese people often gather to exchange goods. We will enjoy a cup of hot coffee here before biking to Viet Quang. On the way to Viet Quang, we will ride through some traditional remote villages and local markets. Lunch will be served in Viet Quang before moving to Ha Giang city. It is  expected that our team will arrive there in the late afternoon. We will have dinner and spend a night at a homestay in the peaceful Ha Giang city.

On the first day, at 11:30, you check in on Tuan Chau Island. You may love to stay on this island for several days. Tuan Chau Island is full of beautiful beaches, extraordinary performances, fun outdoor activities, and delicious seafood.

At 12:30, electric cars of the company will pick you up and drive you to the harbor where the ship anchors. During the trip, you will be assisted by a personal butler. He is also the one who gives you a cruise briefing. Then you have time to enjoy your welcome drink in the Piano Lounge, as well as make friends with other people.

13:00 – 14:00 is lunchtime. Contemplating the beauty of Fighting Cocks Islet, Dau Go Cave, and Thien Cung Cave while savoring flavorful dishes is surely a delightful thing to enjoy.

At 14:30, we reach the first destination of the day – Sung Sot Cave.

The cave was first named by the French as “Grotte des surprises”, which means “a cave full of surprises”. Located in the central area of Halong Bay, Sung Sot is considered to be one of the greatest caves in the whole bay. It is home to numerous rock islets with unique shapes. Hidden under the canopy of leaves, the stone road to Sung Sot cave looks charming. Two compartments of the cave are both full of sparkling stalactite. At the highest peak of the cave, you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the garden, the lake, and various plants and birds. Cute monkeys

also often appear here for fruit. This magnificent cave is an ideal site for those who love trekking and exploring.

After visiting Sung Sot Cave, we will have afternoon tea served in Piano Lounge. From 16:00 to 17:00, you can either spend an enjoyable moment at Kaia Spa or rest in the Jacuzzi. All of these services are to help you relieve stress so you can fully enjoy the trip.

As the ship stops at Luon Cave, you are highly recommended to try kayaking. This open cave is just one kilometer from Sung Sot Cave. To enter the cave, you need to go through an arch formed by erosion over millions of years. Once through the arch, you will admire the limestone cliffs immersed in the clear water. For those who don’t really want to kayak, a traditional bamboo boat is an appropriate choice. You are going to see strangely shaped trees and mischievous monkeys climbing on the cliffs.

Don’t forget that 17:30 – 18:30 is Happy Hour with a live music show in the Piano Lounge. You would love to witness the cooking demonstration on the sundeck as well. At 19:00, you will be served a perfect dinner with over 40 dishes. These dishes are prepared by Jon Burton-Race – a British Michelin starred chef. The menu includes food of both Western and Eastern cooking styles, so there will be a feast for your eyes and mouth. After dinner is time for free activities.

You can calmly look at the majestic seascape at night while sipping your favorite drink, or have your muscles relaxed at Kaia Spa.

You’d better wake up at 06:30 to start a wonderful day with a Tai Chi session. Watching the sun rising on the sundeck is a good idea, too. At 7:00, a light meal will fill your energy to make sure that you are ready for the rest of the journey.

At 7:30, the cruise will reach Titov Island – the last destination of the trip. The island is named after Soviet astronaut – Gherman Titov. The sand beach here is small but really airy and quiet. The water is always clean and clear, so it is perfect for swimming. This place is perfect for those

who love hiking. As you reach the top of the island, you will have a remarkable view of Halong Bay.

At 8:30, a full breakfast buffet is ready in the restaurant. At 9:45, your butler will help you with bill matters, as well as checking out.

At 10:30, all the clients will disembark at Tuan Chau Marina. Then you can have lunch in the restaurant before going back to Hanoi at 12 AM.
