Today’s road trip will cost you a distance of 240 km. The plan for the 5th day of Northern Vietnam Motorbike Tours – 11 Days towards Northwest regions is to ride from Sapa down to Lao Cai city and meet the Chinese border region. The interesting thing when visiting Vietnam – China border is the busy scene of exchanging goods between people in the two countries. The coffee here is another plus point as it has good taste at a low price. Then leaving the border, our crew ride to Viet Quang to move to Ha Giang.

Along the way to Viet Quang, it is common to see some remote villages and local markets there. Lunchtime for today is in Viet Quang. We hope to get close to Ha Giang in a little late afternoon.

Today we head to Ha Giang by riding through the majestic rocky plateaus near the Chinese border. The best thing you cannot miss when coming to Ha Giang is to conquer Ma Pi Leng, one of the most beautiful and legendary mountain passes in Vietnam. Spend some time admiring the scenery from Ma Pi Leng Pass; you will be truly impressed with the beauty of nature here. Apart from the spectacular scenery, Ha Giang also attracts many tourists to explore the unique culture of ethnic minorities living near the border area. We will arrive in Meo Vac at around 4 pm. After dinner, you can slowly walk around and enjoy some street food in this beautiful town.

From Meo Vac, we will descend and travel along the Gam River, with many steps crossing the rustic villages. Wherever we go, you can see the friendly and hospitable smiles of the local people, especially the children. After 1 hour on the extensive roads, we will take the road to the pecking routes with rocks and stagnation. Those steep roads will take us through the pleasant terraced fields and peaceful villages surrounded by crystal clear streams. In the morning, the whole group will relax, enjoy the panoramic view of Ba Be Lake and have cultural exchanges with local people.vSitting on a small boat, you can relax and admire the lake view while finding the right angle to take photos. On the Lake, the boat will stop at the following locations:

• Fairy Pond: Fairy Pond is located at the corner of Ba Be Lake, a small lake nestled between a mountain rising above the lake. Legend has it that in the past, the gods often sat here to play chess.
• An Ma Temple: The temple is located on a small mountain in the middle of the lake. Legend has it that during the feudal war of the Le – Mac dynasties, the Mac generals lost the battle, ran to Dong Puong and committed suicide there. Appreciating the spirit of loyalty, the people built a temple to worship the Mac family, but worried that the Le Dynasty’s military would find out and destroy it, they changed the name to An Ma Temple. The two words “An Ma” in the Tay ethnic language mean “beautiful peaceful grave”, the resting place of Mac family loyalists.
• Ba Goa Island – a lovely small island located right in the center of the Lake, associated with the formation of the Lake. The boat goes slowly around the island for you to take pictures.

Last day Vietnam motorbike adventure – 10 Days is expected to be a long riding distance to North Vietnam. On the route returning to Hanoi, our off-road motorcycle team will pass through the rural areas along the Red River delta. You will be able to observe the fields of growing corn and rice, the traditional handicraft villages, and fishing villages. A long day of riding might make you tired, though it is still an extremely exciting day for riding. The nearer we come to the city, the busier it seems to be. We are expected to arrive in Hanoi before 5:00 am.

Option 1: Hanoi City Tour

8h00: We pick you up from your hotel (located within the Hanoi Old Quarter only) or at TheSinhTourist Hanoi and take you to visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho – and President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969. You’ll also the Ho Chi Minh Museum where you can learn about this remarkable man and what he did for Vietnam and the world..

9h30: you’ll visit the One Pillar Pagoda, which is actually a group of structures that collectively make up a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake.

After that, you’ll have a chance to explore the Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shore of west lake. From there, it’s onto the Temple of literature, which was Viet nam’s first university and is dedicated to Confucius.

12h30: you have lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter. Afterwards, you’ll visit Hoan Kiem Lake, the heart and soul of Hanoi.

Finally,  You’ ll stop in at MUSEUM OF ETHNOLOGY.This superb museum showcases the depth of Vietnamese cultural diversity with an astounding collection of 15,000 artifacts gathered from throughout Vietnam. Maps, displays and dioramas are labelled in Vietnamese, French and English.Displays portray a typical village market, the making of comical hats and a Tay shamanic ceremony; videos show the real thing. You can also check out a traditional Black Thai house reconstructed in the museum. There’s also a centre for research and conservation where scientists from all over the world study traditional Vietnamese cultures.

10h30: Visiting Mua Cave, where you can get the impressive panoramic view of Tam Coc and Ninh Binh city when you reach the top point of Ngoa Long mountain.

12h00: Enjoy lunch with plenty of traditional foods such as: spring rolls, goat meat…etc.

13h00: Discovering Tam Coc on the sampan (bamboo boat).
