Central Vietnam Motorcycle Tour from Hoi An to Quy Nhon - 8 days

The first trip on the eight-day tour is from Hoi An to My Son. It will be very exciting for us to discover this wonderful world heritage which is located 50 km southwest of Hoi An. From My Son, it takes about five minutes to move on a short mountainous road then walk along the stone path to come to the My Son ruins. My Son is an eloquent demonstration of the existence of an ancient kingdom recognized as one of the world’s cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1999. Until now, its features and unique culture of Cham people are still retained. We will explore the temple tower with the mystery of building materials and all the decorations that are still questions until now.

Leaving My Son Relic about 6km to the west, we come to Tay Ho Hot Spring. It has two streams with hot water every year formed after seismic in the ground millions of years ago that carries precious minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron. It is considered an ideal place for treating with a water temperature of about 85 degrees. We keep riding about 40km to reach Dong Phu town whose traditional occupation is making Pho from cassava. After that, we move to a place with many beautiful landscapes called Kham Duc. It is a town in Phuoc Son district, Quang Nam province, Vietnam which is well-known for some status of Viet Nam's history, and ecological locations such as streams, mountains, and forests, etc.

On the second day, after having breakfast at the local restaurant, we depart to Kon Tum. It takes about three hours to ride through the 190 km Ho Chi Minh trail which has some majestic sceneries along two sides. We will have lunch before reaching Kon Tum. 

Kon Tum province located at the North Pole of Highlands possesses many tourist attractions such as Yaly lake, Mang Den Forest, Dak To hot spring, Dak Glei Prison, a wooden church and so on. Let’s discover the pride of the Central Highlands people with the most ancient and beautiful relics called the Kontum Church (Wood Church). It is located in the downtown of the city that was constructed entirely with wood by a French priest in 1913. Its architecture style is the combination of Italian style and Bana style stilt house with a liberal line to express the substance of the Central Highlands. 

About 50 km from the Kon Tum capital is Mang Den forest which is recognized as “Da Lat” of Central Highlands. It is featured by bold wild with the vast pine forests, white waterfalls, dew mist, blossoming forest bloom four seasons, and the charming landscape as watercolor paintings in spite of human impact. After that, you will have a night and enjoy the great dinner at Kontum hotel.

From Kontum, we keep riding about 272 km to reach Buon Me Thuot. We will go through the foggy city - Pleiku, where we can’t miss which is called "Eyes of Pleiku" - Ho Day, carved into this beautiful city by the blue sea and the sound of the wind as gentle melody hard to resist. The Dai Doan Ket Palace named "the heart" of Pleiku in particular and Gia Lai in the general definitely makes you speechless with its marvelous beauty and prideful with Uncle Ho statue standing majestically. And then we keep moving on the Intrepid off road to Ham Rong mountain, which is the roof of Pleiku with a volcano that has not been active for a long time and a lush land for colorful flowers and green pine trees. 

We will have lunch in Pleiku city before arriving in Buon Me Thuot. This land has enchanted tourists by the immense coffee fields, majestic waterfalls or the beauty of the Serepok legendary. Surely, we’re unable to get out of curiousness about Elephant Mother Rock, located in the Yang Tao (Lak district), about 40 km along Highway 27. It consists of an elephant couple showing up horns in the mountains, bringing in the legendary thriller and mysterious. We will enjoy dinner with Grilled chicken, Ama Kong wine and overnight in Buon Me Thuot.

In the morning, we finish breakfast and depart to Lak lake by riding 55 km on route 27. Lak Lake is a beautiful landscape of the Central Highlands, which is 60km from Buon Ma Thuot far away. It’s evaluated as the largest freshwater lake in the area with the function of supplying fresh water to the fields and regulating the sunny and windy climate. If we come to Lak lake in the rainy season you can witness hundreds of streams, waterfalls to the lake with the blooming of lotus and gun flowers, creating a very poetic scene. 

Good suggestions for tourists are don’t forget to try interesting experiences: 

1. Riding Elephant and exploring the culture of M'Nong, an ethnic minority living along the lake as Jun, M'Lieng village. 

2. Going to Lak Lake by canoe to see the fish swimming under the lake with the fresh air surely makes you blow off steam. 

Next, we keep going on route 27 and Lien Khuong Highway for arriving Prenn Pass and Da Lat city. Dalat always welcomes us with a pleasant climate and beautiful landscapes. We can see Tuyen Lam Lake, visit Truc Lam Zen Monastery or stroll under the canopy and enjoy a cup of warm coffee in cold weather.

The golden age of Dalat is often referred to here as a miniature Paris full of elements such as architecture, cuisine, culture, religion, residents... all of them carry the breath of France. Early morning, sunset is the most beautiful time of Ho Xuan Huong. There are duck games, motorboat races or rubber boats on the lake. 

Da Lat flower garden: it’s located at number 2 Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street, 2km from the city center. And then we will visit flower gardens to admire the colorful flowers and snap some beautiful pictures. Da Lat Cathedral (Con Ga Church): it has the bell tower is a large chicken at the top. In addition, we still have many places like Lang Biang mountain, Cu Lan Village, Prenn waterfall. In the evening, we will walk to the Dalat night market for shopping for food, souvenirs.

After finishing the schedule: Kon Tum-Buon Me Thuot- Da Lat, we depart a new one hundred and a forty-kilometer trip to Nha Trang by riding a motorcycle within three hours. Nha Trang is not only known as a coastal city but it also the center of politics, economics, culture, science and technology and tourism of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam.

Nha Trang Bay contains 19 small islands including the largest island named Hon Tre and other small islands such as Hon Mun, Hon Mieu, Hon Tam, Hon Chong-Hon Vo, and Oats island. It belongs to the vista system that consists of wetland ecosystems, coral reefs, mangrove forests, seagrass beds, ecological gates, marine ecology, and marine ecosystems. The French Institute of Oceanography established in 1922 is another attractive destination in Nha Trang with many kinds of sea creatures.

Besides, we can admire Thap Ba which was built by King Champa Harivácman in the years 813 - 817. Many statues and reliefs made of terracotta, including Ponagar, Tenexa, fairies, animals are found here. It is the place for people to worship every March of the lunar year. After that, we will take a rest at the Nha Trang hotel then taste the specialties.

It takes about four hours to complete a 215 kilometer trip from Nha Trang beach to Quy Nhon. It is a coastal city in central Vietnam, not only has been acknowledged as a Grade I city by the Prime Minister in 2010 but also voted as Southeast Asia's top destination by the UK's Rough Guides Travel Magazine in 2015.

The first destination in Quy Nhon is Thap Doi that belongs to Champa. It is located on Tran Hung Dao street, Dong Da ward (3 km from the center of Quy Nhon) with two towers- the north tower and the south one. It was erected between the 11th and 13th centuries with many reliefs engraved with statues, birds, and animals according to Cham beliefs on the outside wall and the roofs. 

The next place is the ancient island of Cu Lao Xanh, a French colonial house that was constructed more than 100 years ago. We are sure that you can’t keep your eyes off the whole area of the island, the panoramic view of the immense sea, and the Fairy Stream going down the north-west of the lighthouse. You will take a rest at Quy Nhon hotel and admire surround landscapes such as Long Khanh pagoda, Son Long pagoda, Quy Hoa beach, Eo Gio, Ghenh Rang, etc.

After having breakfast, we go back to Hoi An. Firstly, we go along route 1A then stop in Quang Ngai city in 200km of riding. In Quang Ngai, we will ride follow the schedule: My Khe-Sa Huynh-Tam Ky. My Khe beach is known as the most attractive beach on the planet appeared on both domestic and foreign media. Another place is the Sa Huynh salt field belonging to the Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province which is famous for picturesque pictures by many national and international photographers. The next stop point is Tam Ky where the lunch will be served. After that, it will be the one hundred-kilometer trip to Hoi An - the final trip of the eight-day Vietnam Motorbike Tours.
