Sapa is one of the most popular destinations in Vietnam Motorbike Tours. It is home to beautiful mountain scenery, verdant terraced fields, unique villages, and Fansipan peaks, but the most attractive place is Fansipan. The Fansipan is the highest mountain in Vietnam which is only 19 km from Sapa town. The distance seems to be short, but the trip is not easy with rough terrain and unpredictable weather.
Hoang Lien mountain range and Fansipan are said to be the highest peaks in the mountains of northwestern Vietnam, which appeared in the neoclassical period (about 100 million years ago). The name “Fansipan” originated from the raw pronunciation of the local name “Hua Hua Xi Pan”, which means the giant rock. It has the brand name of Indochina’s roof at the height of 3,143m originated from a milestone created by the French when they had a trip to Vietnam in 1905. However, after the long years of war, the vestige of the French is quickly overwhelmed by footprints. The Fansipan ecosystem is also very various, with about 2,024 types of flowers, 327 animal species, and diverse terrain. Especially, there is a valley called Muong Hoa created by a narrow strip of land at the eastern base of the mountain at the lowest altitude (950-1,000m).In the past, very few people climbed Fansipan Mountain.
